RAPID CITY, S.D. - The 2013 Range Beef Cow Symposium will be Dec. 3-5 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City.
South Dakota State University (SDSU) hosts this year's event, which is a joint effort of the Extension services from SDSU, Colorado State University, University of Wyoming and University of Nebraska and is held every other year, rotating between four states.
This year's agenda includes beef industry issues, genetics, reproduction, range and forage management, cattle health, and beef nutrition. Cost is $90 per person with early registration. The price goes to $125 after Nov. 15. Discounts are available for spouses or employees of registrants, students or for single-day registrations.
Registration includes lunches. Dinners are available for an extra cost. The traditional evening "Bull Pen" sessions offer registrants an opportunity for questions and discussions with speakers. A commercial trade show features suppliers of livestock products and services.
